Stamping-Cooking-Knitting-My Life!: I finally made it to the 20,000 count! And the winner is: Claudia! Random Integer Generator Here are your random numbers:8 Timestamp: 2008-05-26 23:29:04 UTC Claudia please contact me with your info so I can mail you the goodies!

Play Time is Stamping Time!

I had a little time to play! These cards feature some of the stamps I got at the stamping convention I went to.

Fresh Cuts .......SNEAK PEEK!

I love this new set that will be in the new catalog! You too can love it and purchase it on June 1st! You can also get a set of these great Fresh Cut Notes for $5 when you purchase the stamp set for $21.95. Hostesses who have a workshop of $400 or more can get it for free!
To make this card I pulled off the die cut petals and put them aside. I then put a post-it on the inside and stamped the center with the large image inked with Basic Black. I then took the flower sprig stamp and went around the border that was left. I used the 5-Petal punch and cut a flower with Basic Black cardstock and mounted it behind the center of the other flower with a glue dot. Put a small red button in the front with a glue dot, tied on some red grosgrain ribbon, stamped Thank you on the inside, and my card was done! Fast and easy! I also stamped the envie to match. What a simple but fabulous card!

Mmmmmmmm...Creamsicle!

Patty Bennett shared this on her blog, and she in turn got it from her upline. I decided this was what we would make at Stamp Club last night. Here you can see two slightly different looks. I wanted it to look shiny like a real frozen treat. So to do this....I ran my Versamark pad all over the cardstock and them embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I stamped the greeting with Black Stazon. The "orange" images is from the Tart & Tangy set that is only available til the end of may! The ladies had fun taking "bites" out of their ice cream. I didn't think about grabbing my camera until I saw Snowball lounging in Christina's lap. The group loved the card and Emily is going to make some for her daughter's birthday invitations. Stay tuned for more flavors!
UPDATE: The card part is 5"x4" and folded in half, so it does fit in an A2 envie. You just move the stick up til you get it where you want.

pkg. of favor boxes to stamp on
nugget tin to decorate

Sweater is DONE!

I actually finished it while away this past weekend. I took this picture of my nephew in it. It is too big of course! The pattern comes in two sizes 2/4 and 6/8. I wanted to make the larger one so he would have some growing room. It is for his birthday this fall. He loves it, but my sister is wondering if it's too girly???? His favorite color is green and the yarn has different shades. The pattern I used is here. It is a unisex pattern. So tell me what you think! Too girly?

A Weekend Away!

My hubby, son and I were all supposed to go to the beach this past weekend. I was going for the Stamping by the Sea convention and they were going to go and hang out. Hubby and son decided they really didn't want to go. Hubby insisted weather was going to be bad and they would be bored while I was stamping........sooooooo......they insisted I go by myself! And I did!!!!
It was a quiet, but productive weekend. I took a class on Saturday morning and made this mirror. It is a mirror frame from Ikea. The squares are chipboard that were painted with Tim Holtz's crackle paint on some, and embossing powders on others. The stamped images were stamped on paper with Stazon and then adhered to the chipboard . We used his Distress Ink pads to color those images. I also used it to go around the sides of my tiles. It was fun to do!
And here is a look at the goodies I got! But before I can go play I have some housework to do!

1 project, 2 project, 3 project......4!

Well not really....but I do have 2 projects going on right now. My DH ordered me a swift for Mother's Day that should be coming today!!!! Then I can wind up some skeins or yarn to continue on my projects.
I have this child's sweater in the making. It is the yummiest yarn!!!! It is Cascade Sierra Quatro Pima Cotton/Wool that is made in Peru. It's 80% cotton and 20% wool. It feels soooo good! Not sure of the color name, but the label says color 411. Shades of green and turquoise. This is a top down sweater. I am almost done the yoke.
And am working on another pair of socks............sure do need that swift!

Cupcake Anyone?

I will start this out by saying that I don't have a real pattern for this card! I used my Ellison Thickcut cupcake/ice cream die. I diecut the shapes and then enlarged them on my pc and printed out to use as a template. I took the two pieces and overlapped and traced them onto my folded cardstock for the base card. Then I used my Print Pack designer series paper for the layers. It is hard to see in the photo, but I ran the striped piece through my crimper before cutting it out. The polka dot piece is then layered on top. I added Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the dots, and used liquid applique and CE to go around the border. The cherry on top is done with the 3/4" circle punch.
edited to add template!!!!
I hope this works! I scanned what I used as my template. You may have to enlarge or reduce. Enjoy!

It's Pizza Time!

Watched my nephews the other night so my sis and BIL could go out for a quiet dinner after the sad previous days. We decided to make pizza! Aunt JoJo (me) always lets them help. So I pulled out my silpat and baking sheet and made the dough (I get the Weis brand that you just add water too and it is yummy!) Once the dough was spread out I added the sauce. Then it was their turn to add the cheese and pepperoni!!! Needless to say, the dog also enjoyed some mozzarella cheese! They had so much fun doing it!

1st Communion

My niece is making her 1st Communion today. This is a really quick card I made last night. I used my Score-Pal for the folds, scoring my 8x11 cs at 2, 4, 6, 8. The background paper is from Basic Grey and the embellishments were something I picked up at Michaels. I uses Stampin' Up Scallop Circle punch and ribbon. I also used the SU tag punches for the tag inside the card. The First Communion stamp is one I picked up many years ago.

Life's events

Haven't had time to blog.......been busy with daily life. My sister's Mother-in-Law passed away on May 1st. It has been a very sad few days. This wonderful woman was a sweetheart who loved her family and welcomed everyone with open arms. Lu, you will be missed. And my little nephews who two of are too young to realize what is happening have given us a few laughs. Colin, who will be 4 in a few months was getting ready to go to the funeral home last night. Here is how my sister said the converstation went. Mom: We have to get you ready to go say goodbye to Mama. (this is what the kids called their grandmother) Colin: Where is she going? Mom: to Heaven. Colin: is Papa driving her? Mom: (crying) No. Colin: Is she going to walk? Mom: No., Remember how when your fishies died and they went to Heaven? Well Mama is going to Heaven and she can now take care of the fishies. Colin: Are we going to flush her? At which point, my sister who was crying...........lost it and burst out laughing! Then today..............during the funeral mass. Colin had to go potty, so big brother Bryce takes him back to the bathroom. They are gone for quite some time. Colin then comes up the ailse and proceeds to tell my sister in a loud whisper that she had to come help him with something. Seeing her dilema, I crept up the aisle to get Colin to see what was wrong. I take his hand and take him to the back of the church. Bryce is waiting there with a smile on his face, rolls his eye's, and shrugs his shoulders. This is how it goes... Me: Bryce, what's wrong? Bryce: He dropped his gum in the toilet. Me: Gum he was chewing? That's okay. Bryce: No, his whole container. Me: Were you in the men's room? Bryce: Yeah. Me: stand guard while I go in. Bryce: Ok Me: walking into the men's room and crack up laughing! In the toilet is this! So knowing that it wouldn't clog up the toilet I proceeded to flush! Then grabbed toilet paper and removed it. Tossed it in the trash and washed my hands! I know that Lu was chuckling on that one!
